Change Ups: CentraCare opens Kalamazoo office

CentraCare Inc. recently opened a 16,000-square-foot facility at 445 W. Michigan Ave. in downtown Kalamazoo. The nonprofit provides medical care and social support for low-income elderly patients living at home through the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), serving Kalamazoo County. At full capacity, CentraCare expects to serve 225 PACE participants with 65 to 70 employees.


Christine Runion has joined Echelbarger, Himebaugh, Tamm & Co PC as director of operations.

Joel Mitchell has joined Plante Moran PLLC as a partner. Mitchell concentrates his practice in international tax, with an emphasis on global tax compliance, financial reporting, repatriation planning and global structuring. Plante Moran also was named Employer of the Year at the International Accounting Bulletin Awards.


The University of Michigan board of regents has approved Integrated Architecture’s design for a three-story, 10,200-square-foot Donald R. Shepherd Softball Center. Construction of the $5.4 million facility is scheduled to begin after the spring softball season.


The Michigan Milk Producers Association announced its board of directors: president, Ken Nobis, St. Johns; vice president, Bob Kran, Free Soil; and treasurer, Mark Halbert, Battle Creek. Re-elected members are Ken Nobis, Dan Javor, Brent Wilson and Leonard Brown.


Muskegon Lakeshore Chamber of Commerce announced its 2013 Entrepreneur Award finalists: Harold Hall, owner of Hall’s Sports Center; Michelle Harris, co-owner of Harris Hospitality; Frank and Gina Lister, owners of The Hearthstone Bistro and Catering; and John Sytsema, owner of Sytsema Funeral Homes. Dr. James M. Tucci has been named chief clinical systems integration and improvement officer for Spectrum Health System. Tucci will assume the newly created position July 1.
