Change Ups: Edward Myers joins Bradley’s health care team

Edward Myers joined Bradley Company’s brokerage team in Grand Rapids as an expert in medical and health care real estate. For 18 years, Myers worked for Spectrum Health Hospital System where he led a team of 20 brokers and support staff to manage more than 7 million square feet of owned and leased space. Myers’ capabilities include acquiring and disposing of properties, leading merger and integration due diligence reviews for hospitals and physician groups, and developing buy/lease analysis and real estate portfolio recommendations.

A team of students from Baker College’s Culinary Institute of Michigan in Muskegon won the 2019 American Culinary Federation Knowledge Bowl National Championship. The student chefs, Stanley Mersino (baking and pastry) of Spring Lake, Rachelle Murphy (food and beverage management) of Grand Haven, Camryn Potter (baking and pastry) of Zeeland and Kate Strauss (culinary arts) of Grand Haven, earned the CIM’s first ACF Knowledge Bowl national title at the competition finals in Orlando, Florida.

Kalamazoo Valley Community College’s Advanced Technology Center is hosting a Skilled Trades Expo on Oct. 3. The expo at the Texas Township Campus will show prospective students automotive technology, electrical technology, HVAC, engineering, design and manufacturing technology, welding technology and training for other skilled trades and technical careers — all available through Kalamazoo Valley.

Jackson-based Consumers Energy announced it ranks highest in customer satisfaction among large natural gas providers in the Midwest, according to the J.D. Power 2019 Gas Utility Residential Customer Satisfaction Study. The utility received the highest marks among 17 utilities included in the segment of large gas utilities in the Midwest.

Battle Creek-based Kellogg Co. announced it has reached an institutional partnership with Battle Creek Unlimited’s Southwest Michigan Accelerator Kitchen, a proposed facility that will be housed in downtown Battle Creek’s Tiger Room. Services the accelerator will provide include access to capital, culinary design and food manufacturing/safety expertise, marketing support, accounting and legal services to grow and create additional jobs.

Muskegon Surgery Center announced a major expansion of its facility is completed, with a 24,000-plus-square-foot addition that increases the size of the surgery center by more than 50%. It includes 28 new post-op patient recovery bays, six of which are larger for patients requiring medical observation for a longer period of time after surgery. New features also included an orthopedic urgent care center, new exam rooms and offices for foot/ankle and trauma treatment.

McDonald’s orders can be made through the DoorDash mobile app or on doordash.com. McDonald’s also is part of DashPass, DoorDash’s nationwide subscription program. For $9.99 a month, DashPass offers its members unlimited no-charge delivery fees on orders $12 dollars or more from thousands of participating restaurants.

Midwest Express announced the Elite Airways aircraft, with exterior Midwest Express branding, will service initial flight destinations to Grand Rapids. The plane recently arrived at the Gerald R. Ford International Airport where travelers were given Midwest Express chocolate chip cookies, which will be baked onboard all Midwest Express-marketed flights.
