Mel Trotter Ministries is collecting food for Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets for people in need. The nonprofit Christian ministry’s goal is to collect 35,000 pounds of nonperishable food items to fill 1,200 holiday meal boxes and supplement the food pantry. Food items may be dropped off in the blue barrels at Mel Trotter Ministries, 225 Commerce Ave. SW, its four retail stores, or at participating Biggby Coffee or Chemical Bank locations.
