Amway’s decision in March to lay off up to 900 employees became the most read Business Journal story of 2021.

During a year of economic uncertainty due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Ada based direct seller’s announcement was a hot topic for Business Journal readers. Fortunately for the regional economy, Amway also said it planned to bring roles to Ada from its Nutrilite Vitamins & Supplements tableting and packaging facilities in California over the next few years.

For a time when many are more cautious about their health, its little surprise that Amway is investing more heavily in its wellness portfolio.

The rest of the top 10 stories this year cover a variety of topics, including real estate, human resources, restaurants and entertainment, the latter two signaling a slow return to normal as COVID vaccines rolled out earlier this year.
