$15M urban apartment building opens leasing

A $15-million apartment building near downtown has opened leasing.

Residents are moving into Gateway at Belknap in Grand Rapids, at 500 Coit Ave. NE, just north of the Medical Mile.

Lansing-based DTN Management is the property manager and a partner on the development with Grand Rapids-based Orion Construction.

The three-story, 96,000-square-foot mixed-use building has 88 apartments, including 31 one-bedroom and 41 two-bedroom units, as well as 16 “micro-loft” studios.

The square footage of the units ranges from 356 square feet to 1,187 square feet.

Apartments range from $900 for a studio to more than $1,725 for a two-bedroom. One-bedroom units start at $1,175.

The project, which broke ground in late 2015, also has a 146-space parking ramp.

Amenities include a fitness studio, Spartan-Net fiber internet and satellite TV and efficient appliances. Pets are also allowed.

Portions of the project already have residents, but the full development will be open in May.

Retail tenants in the building have not been announced.
