A West Michigan accounting firm has acquired two similar businesses in the region.
Cascade Township-based Hungerford Nichols CPAs + Advisors acquired Muskegon-based Conn Geneva & Robinson CPA and Consultants and Spring Lake-based Kimberly Taylor Accounting & Tax, according to Hungerford Nichols last week.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Conn Geneva & Robinson partners Pete Geneva and Rich Robinson, along with their staff, will be joining the team at Hungerford Nichols and so will Kim Taylor, who was sole proprietor of her firm.
“We are excited to welcome Pete, Rich, Kim and their team to our firm,” said Rick Chrisman, managing shareholder, Hungerford Nichols.
“Much like the team at Hungerford Nichols, they display a strong commitment to their client relationships and community. We all strongly agree that the merger strengthens our ability to serve our clients, as well as grow our footprint along the lakeshore.”
Clients will “continue to work with the same team members,” and the acquisition “will not affect their experience.”
Hungerford will retain Conn Geneva’s Muskegon office, and Taylor will close her office and work from Hungerford’s Muskegon location.
The new staff members will bring the total number of Hungerford Nichols employees to 102.
Taylor said she is “excited” to join the Hungerford Nichols team.
Robinson said he is “looking forward” to becoming part of the larger firm.
“We were attracted to Hungerford Nichols because of their strong reputation within the business community,” Robinson said. “They are hardworking, dedicated and talented professionals with deep expertise across a variety of industries."
Geneva said he is “grateful for the relationships” built with clients over the past 45 years.
“We thank them for their support and for their business and know the merger will be positive for our clients, our staff and our community,” Geneva said. “We look forward to continuing to serve our clients.”
