The Grand Rapids-Kent County Convention/Arena Authority (CAA) is set to be the new manager of GLC Live at 20 Monroe, following its recent sale.
The CAA, a seven-member board that oversees DeVos Place, DeVos Performance Hall and Van Andel Arena, recently received approval from the Kent County Board of Commissioners to enter into a lease and operating agreement for the management of the 2,600-capacity venue at 11 Ottawa Ave. NW in downtown Grand Rapids.
“The approval only gives the CAA the opportunity to discuss a potential lease with the ownership group,” said Richard MacKeigan, regional manager for ASM Global, a venue and event management company that manages CAA’s venues.
The new owner of the entertainment venue is GLC GR Live, according to Kent County property records. The Niles-based company recently purchased the venue from the Gilmore Collection for $16.5 million.
GLC GR Live has been operating since June 2021 and is registered to Compound Capital.
