A local construction firm was recently recognized for its distinguished service at an awards ceremony.
The American Subcontractors Association of Michigan celebrated its tenth annual Michigan Contractor of the Year Awards Oct. 17 at Frederik Meijer Gardens. This year’s award was presented to Dan Vos Construction, marking the fifth time the Ada-based contactor has won the award.
The MCOY recognizes general contractors and construction managers with a track record of best practices, professionalism and collaboration within the subcontracting community.
“West Michigan trade-contractor votes are in, and Dan Vos Construction Company has walked away with the MCOY for their exceptional level of professionalism and ethics,” said Steven Coates, ASAM president. “Congratulations to their entire organization for promoting collaboration and teamwork, and setting the bar for other contractors to meet.”
There were eight 2019-2020 MCOY nominees in total. First runner-up was given to Pioneer Construction in Grand Rapids and the second runner-up went to Elzinga & Volkers out of Holland.
John Ratzenberger — star of the television series “Cheers,” voice of Pixar animation, and advocate of subcontractors and the trades — was keynote speaker.
