A fundraiser downtown this week will support an international festival in Grand Rapids.
Organizers of the Grand Rapids Asian-Pacific Festival are producing Taste of Asia this Thursday from 6-9 p.m. on the rooftop of the Varnum building downtown, at 333 Bridge St. NW.
Tickets include two drink tickets and food samples from various regions of Asia — including Chinese dim sum, Vietnamese food and Thai food.
There will also be a performance from Asian-American standup comedian Allen Trieu, as well as a martial arts demonstration, a lion dancer and modern dance by the Grand Valley Asian Student Union and K-GE.
Attendees will have a chance to win tickets to the Chinese Warriors of Peking event, Lunar New Year event and various Michigan-made products from the Grand Rapids International Wine, Beer & Food Festival.
Tickets are available online for those 21 and older for $25.
Free parking will be sponsored by Varnum.
