A new week dedicated to a beverage is set to take Grand Rapids by the stem, starting on Monday.

The event by the Michigan Cider Association is supported by Experience Grand Rapids.

Cider Week GR will feature events across the city, such as pairing dinners and tap takeovers.

Cider Week GR will finish with a public hard cider festival from 2-7 p.m. on April 22 on the Blue Bridge in downtown Grand Rapids.

Cider makers from across the state will serve up their ciders at the festival.

Tickets for the festival can be purchased online, and general admission is $25.

Cider Week GR will coincide with the 12th-annual Great Lakes International Cider and Perry Competition, the world’s largest cider-judging competition.

The contest is a closed competition that takes place April 19-22.
