Organizations across West Michigan are being recognized today for their best practices in human resources.

The Michigan Business & Professional Association revealed West Michigan’s 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For.

The winning organizations from this year's competition will be honored by the association at its annual symposium, starting at 7:30 a.m., May 8, at The Pinnacle Center in Hudsonville.

The award competition gives organizations an opportunity to gain recognition in the region for their best practices in HR and as an ideal workplace for employees.

The association said the winning organizations excel in practicing “innovative strategies." They represent a range of industries, such as automotive, construction, nonprofit and health care.

The organizations were evaluated by IIT’s Center for Research and Service, an independent research firm, on several key HR criteria: compensation, benefits, employee solutions, employee enrichment, engagement, retention, diversity and inclusion.

“The honorees have clearly demonstrated why each of them would be an ideal place for employees to work,” said Jennifer Kluge, president of the Michigan Business & Professional Association. “The companies that we are recognizing this year are an example of exceptional human resource practices and represent high standards in today’s economic climate.”

The 101 winning companies will also compete for 11 Elite awards and the Best of the Best Overall award for the organization that excelled across the board.

Based in Warren, the statewide association offers programs and community initiatives that impact more than 150,000 businesses.
