There’s a new Realtor of the Year in southwest Michigan.
The Southwestern Michigan Association of Realtors recently gave Chris Marzke the 2014 award.
Marzke is an associate broker for @properties Harbor County in New Buffalo.
The association represents real estate professionals in Berrien, Van Buren and Cass counties.
The group honored Marzke at its Annual Awards Luncheon, which was held in St. Joseph at Shadowland on Silver Beach.
Marzke has been involved with the community he serves for years: he’s served as a member of the Berrien Country Land Preservation Board since 2006 and as a member of the St. Joseph Junior Foundation Board since 1998.
Marzke holds several professional designations: accredited buyer representative; certified residential specialist, graduate of the Realtors Institute and an e-PRO certification.
Marzke has also been heavily involved with the area association over the years.
He served as president of the assocation's board last year and, previously, as president-elect and treasurer.
He’s also served on the association’s Technology Committee and chaired both its Governmental Affairs and Finance committees.
Marzke attended Michigan State University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in employment relations and a master’s degree in labor relations and human resources.
