Auto parts maker plans 100 jobs

An automotive parts manufacturer is planning to invest about $3.4 million at its West Michigan plant, which should increase employment there by about 100 people.

Expanded production

L&W — a manufacturer of metal stampings, welded assemblies and tubular products — plans to invest in new machinery, equipment, furniture and fixtures at its Holland plant in 2013 and 2014.

The investment will expand production capacity and employment at the plant, at 808 East 32nd St.

Jobs

One hundred new jobs are expected to be created at the plant by August 30, 2016, according to the city.

The jobs will include professional, technical, craftsman, machine operators and laborers, with an average weekly salary ranging from $440 to $880.

L&W received a tax abatement in September that will last for 12 years, according to information from Holland City Hall.

L&W has been in business since 1973 and now has 17 plants in four states.
