An auto supplier is investing $30 million in an expansion project in the region.
Magna Mirrors in Holland, which is part of Magna International of Aurora, Ontario, broke ground yesterday on a new 90,000-square-foot facility, at 3401 128th Ave., which will house its Global Center of Excellence for Electrochromic Technology.
The expansion should be completed by next May or June.
The building will be used for the development and production of interior and exterior automotive mirrors.
The project's cost also includes the installation of new manufacturing equipment.
Interior and exterior automotive mirrors have become “increasingly sophisticated,” with electronic functions and features, said Scott Worden, manager of corporate communications and PR, Magna International.
“We expect our expanded facility to result in continued additional business, which will provide us the opportunity for significant job growth and ongoing job security for our team members,” Worden said.
