Auto supplier names VP of engineering

A man with more than 33 years of business and engineering leadership experience is the new vice president of engineering at a local auto supplier.

ADAC Automotive said this month that Gene Hawkins has joined the company’s leadership team.

Hawkins will lead product design, product development, program management and research and development for ADAC Automotive and serve as a member of the executive team.

Jim Teets, ADAC president and CEO, said Hawkins’ experience will be an asset for ADAC.

“His extensive experience will complement and deepen our core competencies and allow us to provide even more innovative products and services to our customers,” Teets said.

Hawkins' background

Hawkins gained his years of experience at a variety of companies in the auto industry.

Most recently, he served as VP of engineering at Vibracoustic in Farmington Hills.

Hawkins has also served in engineering leadership roles at Delphi and General Motors.

He holds a B.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of California Davis and an M.S. degree in mechanical engineering from Stanford University.
