A bank in the region has named a new vice president.

The board of directors of Kalamazoo-based First National Bank of Michigan, or FNBM, promoted Shaunna Padgett to vice president and strategic and operating manager, according to the bank this month.

“Shaunna is a tremendous asset to the bank,” said Dan Bitzer, president and CEO, First National Bank of Michigan. “We like to promote from within, (and) Shaunna is an excellent example of that philosophy. We are very fortunate to have her on our team.”

Padgett joined FNBM in 2010 as a personal banker and was promoted to office manager in 2013 and branch administration assistant and office manager in 2016. In June 2017, she accepted the role of assistant VP and branch administration manager.

Previously, she held teller and supervisory roles at Hillsdale County National Bank and PNC.

She is a member of the Rotary Club of Kalamazoo and the capital campaign cabinet for the Hospital Hospitality House of Southwest Michigan and regularly volunteers for Kalamazoo County Ready 4s.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in public history from Western Michigan University.
