Bank hires chief technology officer

A bank in the region hired a leader to oversee its technology, information/cybersecurity and people systems.

Holland-based Macatawa Bank said last week it hired Jeff Tatreau for the role of senior vice president, chief technology officer (CTO).

Tatreau will be responsible for “driving the technology vision for the bank, leading its technology operations, and heading its information/cybersecurity efforts and people systems.

He has 14 years of experience working in financial services and 30 years in technology, according to Macatawa Bank.

Before joining the financial institution, he was the chief information officer and senior VP at Northpointe Bank in Grand Rapids, in charge of technology, cybersecurity and physical security.

Prior to that, he worked as director of technology for five years at Computer Products and Resources, also in Grand Rapids, with responsibility for the company’s managed services department, hosting facility and consulting practice.

Tatreau holds bachelor’s degrees in business administration and computer science from Aquinas College.

Founded in 1997, Macatawa Bank offers banking, retail and commercial lending, wealth management and e-commerce services to individuals, businesses and governmental entities.

The bank has about 400 employees at 26 branches in Kent, Ottawa and northern Allegan counties.

Macatawa reported total assets of $2.07 billion in 2019.
