A bank has named its new leader for the lakeshore area.
Midland-based Chemical Bank said yesterday it hired Brad Haverkamp as community president and commercial group manager for the market.
Chemical's lakeshore area includes banks in Holland, Grand Haven, Muskegon, Fremont and surrounding cities.
A community president, Haverkamp will be responsible for aligning the efforts of a cross-functional leadership team to drive growth and ensure consistent and service delivery throughout the lakeshore market.
He will also partner with a local advisory board, comprised of community and civic leaders, who work to ensure that the region’s focus is properly aligned with Chemical Bank’s community banking delivery philosophy.
As commercial group manager, Haverkamp will manage a team of 10 staff who will oversee commercial lending and business development across the lakeshore market. He we will be responsible for managing commercial assets, goals and commitments in the community, as well as developing and maintaining client relationships.
Haverkamp has over 20 years of banking and lending experience.
Most recently, he spent nearly 12 years as an SVP for JPMorgan Chase.
Previously, he was an SVP for National City Bank.
Haverkamp is serving his ninth year on the Calvin College Board of Trustees, and he serves on the board of directors for Junior Achievement of the Michigan Great Lakes.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Calvin College and an M.B.A. from the Western Michigan University Hawthorne College of Business.
He has also completed the Graduate School of Banking program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
