A bank with a large West Michigan presence has added a pair of advisors to its wealth management team.
John Porterfield, president of Dallas-based Comerica Bank’s Grand Rapids region, said this month the bank hired Susan Linker and Scott Freeman.
Linker and Freeman will report to Cathy Cornell, SVP and regional manager for Comerica Bank’s Wealth Management Division.
“With their extensive experience and their strong relationship skills, Susan and Scott are a great addition to our Grand Rapids wealth management team,” Cornell said. “I am confident they will deliver on our promise to our customers to raise expectations of what a bank can be.”
Linker joins Comerica as a VP and trust advisor.
She has more than 17 years of personal trust and estate administration experience with financial institutions in western and southeast Michigan, Chicago and northern California.
Linker holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Central Michigan University. She also completed Trust School at the Atlanta-based Cannon Financial Institute.
Freeman now serves as a VP and senior investment strategist for Comerica.
He is responsible for developing investment strategies for high net worth individuals and families with closely held businesses.
A chartered financial analyst (CFA), Freeman holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Western Michigan University’s Haworth College of Business.
He also serves as an adjunct professor at the Seidman College of Business at Grand Valley State University.
Prior to joining Comerica, Freeman was the senior investment officer at a regional bank. He also previously served as the chief investment officer for a privately held trust company.
Comerica Bank is a subsidiary of Comerica, Inc. (NYSE: CMA), a financial services company with three business segments: business, retail and wealth management.
