A local bank promoted two team members to new roles.

Grandville-based Grand River Bank (GRB) said it promoted Matt Vermeer to first vice president, commercial banking and Pam Davis to assistant vice president and branch manager.

“Grand River Bank is pleased to announce these promotions of two highly skilled and experienced team members,” the bank said.

Vermeer joined Grand River Bank in 2012 and has been a West Michigan commercial banker for 24 years.

In his new role, he will be responsible for “a substantial portion” of the bank’s commercial loan portfolio.

GRB said Vermeer is “well-known for his thoughtful and practical approach, his exceptional relationship management skills and his ability to help businesses achieve their financial objectives.”

Davis joined Grand River Bank’s retail department in 2019, bringing with her 26 years of banking and leadership experience in West Michigan.

She will be based at the bank’s Grandville office, at 4471 Wilson Ave. SW, where she and her team “will continue to provide outstanding financial solutions and extraordinary banking experiences,” the bank said.

According to a post by GRB on LinkedIn, Davis replaced Marcia Borowka, senior vice president of retail banking, who is spearheading the fall 2020 opening of the bank’s new office at 50 Crahen Ave. NE, which the Business Journal reported last summer.
