A pair of certified public accountants at Hungerford Nichols are now shareholders.
Cascade Township-based Hungerford Nichols CPAs + Advisors elected Tessa Keena and Steven Triezenberg to the position of shareholder, the firm said on Wednesday, Sept. 1.
“Tessa and Steve bring experience, keen leadership and a shared vision to our shareholder group, and we are excited to have them as part of our leadership team,” said Rick Chrisman, managing shareholder of the firm. “We believe that growth creates opportunities for all, and this is reflected within our succession plan. Our firm continues to grow as a result of our constant focus on preparing our next generation of leaders for the future.”
Keena works with organizations and their management teams to ensure they have accurate financial information and sound business processes. Her areas of expertise include financial planning and analysis, business systems implementation, and not-for-profit accounting and management.
She earned her Associate of Science degree in business studies from Cornerstone University and her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting from Grand Valley State University. She serves on the Michigan State Board of Accountancy and the boards of directors for Grand Rapids Civic Theatre, West Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and The BRAINS Foundation. Keena is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Michigan Association of CPAs (MICPA) and National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA).

Triezenberg celebrated the completion of his 16th tax season this year. His primary focus is managing the compliance and consulting needs for employee benefit plans across multiple industries. He also has extensive experience providing auditing and consulting services for financial institutions, service companies and various other industries. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Administration degree from Calvin University and Master of Business Administration degree from Grand Valley State University. Triezenberg is a member of the AIPCA and MICPA.
