A company that makes and engraves memorials for cemeteries was acquired by a similar company.
Comstock Park-based Patten Monument recently acquired Mattawan-based Campbell Murch Memorials, according to Grand Rapids-based Small Business Deal Advisors.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Campbell Murch Memorials is a cemetery memorial manufacturing and engraving company that has served southwest Michigan since 1894. The company specializes in granite and bronze memorials, custom bronze and aluminum plaques, custom granite and custom engraving.
The seller, Todd Sokolowski, had owned Campbell Murch Memorials since 1984 and was ready for retirement.

Patten Monument is a cemetery headstone provider that does business in Michigan and northern Indiana.
Doug Yntema, an associate with SBDA, served as a lead M&A adviser for Campbell Murch Memorials in this transaction, including providing advisory expertise and managing the preparatory, marketing, due diligence and negotiation phases of the transaction.
