A three-day beer tour is kicking off tonight to say, “Thank You, Grand Rapids.”
BeerCity, U.S.A.
For two years in a row, Grand Rapids drinkers put the city on the map by winning the now-defunct BeerCity, U.S.A poll at examiner.com.
Two craft beer enthusiasts, Kelli Cain, founder of MIbeers, and Kelli Williams, founder of Momma Needs A Beer, partnered with the city’s brewers to bring the BeerCity Thank You Tour to area beer bars to “personally thank voters and hand out some fun brewery giveaways.”
The three-day tour runs tonight through Thursday night, from 5-9:00 p.m.
“Grand Rapids has been so supportive of our local breweries and brewpubs, we thought it would be cool to find a way to give back and say, ‘Thank You,’” said Jackson VanDyke, owner of Harmony Brewing.
Tour bus
Brewery owners, brewers and several local celebrities will join the bus throughout its three-day tour to area bars: Grand Rapids Mayor George Heartwell, WOTV’s Jordan Carson, Randy Finch of Food Network’s “Ice Brigade,” D&W chef Amy Sherman and MLive’s John Gonzalez.
“There are a lot of awesome giveaways for Grand Rapids craft beer lovers, so I highly encourage everyone to come out and join us at one of the locations,” Cain said.
