A local behavioral health agency has promoted a new chief operating officer.

Beverly Ryskamp began the role on Sept. 9 for Network180.

Ryskamp joined Network180 in 2011 as the systems development manager, becoming director of innovation and development in 2016.

During Ryskamp’s time with Network180, she’s led many practice improvement initiatives including the Network180 Crisis Center project and Kent County's Behavioral Health Home pilot and system-wide rollout.

She has directed the administration of multiple state, federal and private grants in conjunction with system innovations. Since 2018, Ryskamp’s leadership on cost containment initiatives has yielded a projected $6 million in savings for the agency.

“This is an exciting time to be working in behavioral health — public awareness is increasing as significant system restructuring is happening,” Ryskamp said. “This brings about tremendous opportunity to shape our system in a way that it most beneficial to our community. My focus is to cultivate excellence in all areas of Network180 operations with an emphasis on improving the experience of care for the people we serve.”

Prior to joining Network180, Ryskamp supervised a home-based crisis intervention program and practiced law.

She is a licensed clinical social worker and an attorney.

She has a bachelor’s degree from Calvin College and is a graduate of the University of Michigan School of Social Work and the University of Michigan Law School.

In the community, Ryskamp has served for many years on the Grand Rapids Area Coalition to End Homelessness steering and funding review committees and also is a member of the board of the Mental Health Foundation of West Michigan.

Ryskamp follows Bill Riley, who was chief operating officer before becoming interim executive director. Riley plans to step down on Sept. 27, when Bill Ward assumes the executive director role.
