Better Business Bureau honors Torch Award winners

A group of organizations in the region have been honored for their organizational ethics.

The Better Business Bureau of West Michigan hosted its Torch Awards for Ethics event last month at the JW Marriott hotel in downtown Grand Rapids to celebrate organizations it believes are committed to ethics.

Chosen from 38 eligible counties, five of the six award winners are West Michigan organizations.

Eligible organizations must be in operation for at least three years, have at least a B rating from the BBB and indicate they have met charitable giving obligations.

One business was awarded in each of four categories: 1-10 employees; 11-50 employees; 51-175 employees; and more than 175 employees.

One nonprofit was awarded in each of two categories: 1-20 employees; and more than 21 employees.
