Two longtime Grand Rapids companies are coming together in a symbiotic relationship.

Koeze Knapp’s Corner plans to open Schuil Coffee full-service coffee bar Wednesday, Sept. 28, at 1971 E. Beltline Ave. NE, Suite 101. The retail outlet will be open six days a week to service the area’s colleges, churches, businesses and neighborhoods.

It is an enhancement of an existing relationship between the two Grand Rapids staples.

“We are collaborating to bring shoppers the very best specialty food and beverages that Grand Rapids has to offer,”  Koeze Vice President of Marketing Don Cumming said. “Starting this September, shoppers will be able to enjoy the delicious flavors of freshly roasted Schuil coffee, while exploring premium roasted nuts and chocolates in the Koeze shop near Knapp’s Corner.”

Koeze was founded in 1910 and sells peanut butter, gourmet nuts and chocolates. Koeze also has a retail location at 2577 Burlingame Ave. SW.

Meanwhile, Schuil was started in 1981 as one of Grand Rapids’ first specialty coffee roasters. Schuil is located at 2679 29th St. SE and offers a variety of fresh roasted coffees.

Pinnacle Construction finished the buildout for the new coffee bar in August.
