Long Road Distillers will release a limited-run, raspberry-flavored spirit this week.

The Grand Rapids-based distillery said Wednesday, May 4, it will roll out Long Road Raspberry MICHIGIN this week, made from the distillery’s existing MICHIGIN and locally grown raspberries

Raspberry MICHIGIN will be distributed statewide by Imperial Beverage beginning this week. It also will be sold at Long Road tasting rooms in Grand Rapids, Grand Haven and Cadillac beginning 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 4.

Raspberry MICHIGIN cocktail features and sample pours will be half off at each tasting room in celebration of the release. Guests can purchase bottles to bring home with them.

“We’ve been working on special release gin profiles for a while,” said Jon O’Connor, Long Road co-owner and co-founder. “We can’t wait for people to try this combination of two of our favorite things.”

Long Road Raspberry MICHIGIN is made with juniper from Beaver Island, hops from the Michigan Hop Alliance, apples from nearby Peach Ridge Farms and locally grown raspberries. The raspberries make the gin bright pink in the bottle and add some residual sweetness that plays well in spring cocktails, the distillery said.

The new spirit will be sold while supplies last, and the distillery will only produce the Raspberry MICHIGIN once this year.
