The Michigan Bioscience Industry Association, or MichBio, is hosting networking and panel discussion events in Grand Rapids next week.

The BioMixer networking event will be on June 18 from 5-7 p.m. at Brewery Vivant, at 925 Cherry St. SE. It includes light food and beer.

The Women of MichBio breakfast and panel discussion will be June 19 from 9 a.m.-noon at the GVSU Seidman College of Business, at 50 Front Ave. SW. The panel will be moderated by Sok Kean Khoo of GVSU and include four senior employees from Grand River Aseptic Manufacturing, all women.

The panelists will discuss their paths to leadership at the company, the business implications of a culture committed to diversity and inclusion and tips for women and minorities looking to advance their careers in “an industry historical dominated by Caucasian males,” MichBio said.

Both events are open to all bio-industry participants, including professionals, students, faculty and service providers in the medical device, pharmaceutical, ag bio and research sectors.

The events are free for MichBio members and $19 for non-members.

Registration is encouraged but not required.
