A brewery in the region is ready to open its downtown location.
New Holland Brewing Co. said today that it will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Sept. 13 for its Grand Rapids location, The Knickerbocker, at 417 Bridge St. NW.
The event will run from 1-3 p.m., with the ribbon cutting at 2:30 p.m.
The Knickerbocker will open to the public on Sept. 15. It is a restaurant and taproom with an on-site brewery, distillery and community rental space.
The menu will feature “old world, continental fare to pay homage to the West Side’s heritage,” Brett VanderKamp, president of New Holland Brewing Co., told the Business Journal this summer.
“New Holland’s stop-and-taste philosophy is about remembering and encouraging people to take a minute to enjoy what this is all about,” VanderKamp said. “The Knickerbocker is very much in line with that philosophy. We have created a community gathering place where people can come in and set aside the distractions of the day and connect over a meal, a drink a story — and truly enjoy themselves.”
