A brewery in the area now has a full-service kitchen.
Rockford Brewing Co. will host a grand-opening event for of its new kitchen on Nov. 11.
The brewery first opened in 2012.
The kitchen will be led by Ryan Bolhuis, a Hudsonville native and graduate of the French Culinary Institute in New York. In his career, Bolhuis has worked with Nobu 57, The Modem NYC and BLT Fish, all in New York.
Rockford Brewing hopes to serve up innovative dishes that complement its beer, while doing its best to source locally.
The updated menu will feature various items: Korean sticky wings; beer-battered scotch egg; braised pork-belly BLT; Nashville spicy-fried chicken sandwich; brick-roasted chicken; and sweet potato gnocchi.
“Great beer and great food, in my opinion, all stem from the same vein of thought,” Bolhuis said. “Respect for ingredients, respect for the growers and respect for the culture. A great drink and a great plate of food is a universal experience that can make a good day great or make a bad day better.”
The brewery also plans to offer lunch and dinner service seven days a week. The kitchen currently is open from 4-9 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 4-10 p.m. Saturday.
