A brewery in the area is hosting a winter festival this month to help fight child hunger.
Perrin Brewing Company, along with Kids’ Food Basket, will host its second-annual Perrin Ice Jam Winter Festival on Jan. 27 from 3-8 p.m. in Comstock Park, at 5910 Comstock Park Dr. NW.
The family friendly event will feature live music from Jake Kershaw, Mustard Plug and Hollywood Makeout, as well as Perrin’s specialty brews and the Frostbite 5K Run/Walk.
Admission to the event is donation-based and can be either food or cash. All proceeds will go to Kids’ Food Basket.
Perrin Brewing has already begun to collect food donations in the front foyer.
The organizations have posted a donation “wish list”: fruit or applesauce cups; granola bars; toasted oat cereal; cheese crackers; cracker packs; pretzels; and snack-size zipper bags.
Tickets for the festival are available at the Perrin pub or online.
Registration for the 5K run/walk is online. The registration deadline is Jan. 25 at 10 a.m.
