A local brewery is partnering with an arts group to raise awareness for disabilities.

Grand Rapids-based Brewery Vivant is collaborating with SiTE:LAB for Project 1 through the release of Braille Pale Ale, a Michigan farmhouse brew designed to start a conversation about inclusivity.

The beer label for Braille Pale Ale uses a layered spot-gloss technique to put Braille text onto the beer can label. The label was designed by Not Design and printed at Middleton Printing.

Both the text on the side of the can and the Braille on the front of the can describe the beer, an “easy-drinking” 4.5% ABV pale ale with Michigan-grown Chinook and Centennial hops.

Braille Pale Ale is available at Brewery Vivant and at the Project 1 installation at Tanglefoot in southwest Grand Rapids.
