A brewery is taking its bestseller and spicing it up.

New Holland Brewing Co. said this month it will release a limited-edition version of its popular Dragon’s Milk bourbon-barrel stout that's infused with vanilla chai. The reserve line brew will be shipped “by the end of January.”

The beer will have been aged in bourbon barrels for three months, with vanilla chai added for a portion of the time.

“This reserve batch of Dragon’s Milk scored great marks when we quietly pub tested it this fall,” New Holland Brewing President Brett VanderKamp said, adding that Dragon’s Milk has “rich vanilla and chocolate notes.”

In 2015, New Holland released several Dragon’s Milk Reserve variations all at once. This year, the releases will be done quarterly, which will allow the beers to be produced at a higher rate.

New Holland already announced its second reserve variation of 2016: Dragon’s Milk Reserve with Coffee and Chocolate.

Dragon’s Milk is New Holland’s bestselling beer, with more than 3,500 oak barrels dedicated to the beer at the brewery’s Holland production facility.

“The 2016 releases will definitely be an exciting and busy time in the brewhouse,” VanderKamp said. “These small runs of Dragon’s Milk are both to satisfy the creativity of our brewers, but also the palates of our fans.”
