A brewery in the region is releasing a special version of its flagship stout.

Seventeen years after unleashing Dragon's Milk Bourbon Barrel-Aged Stout, Holland-based New Holland Brewing said today it is rolling out the latest in a line of new takes on the brew: Dragon's Milk Reserve Banana Coconut.

Dragon's Milk Reserve Banana Coconut features hints of banana, plantain and coconut and comes in at 11-percent ABV.

It is brewed with 2-row, Munich, caramel, flaked barley, chocolate, black and honey malts, as well as nugget and Brewer's Gold hops.

The limited-edition stout will be available from the beginning of September until sold out. It will be available on draft and in single 12-ounce bottles, four-packs of 12-ounce bottles and 24-pack cases of 12-ounce bottles.

New Holland also said it is re-branding the look of Dragon’s Milk.

Updated Dragon’s Milk packaging will feature a "premium" all-black base, allowing the dragon emblem to serve as the visual focus in place of the brewery's logo. Gradient dragon scales will provide a nod to the stout's name, while mimicking the way foam dissipates in the glass when poured.

"Synonymous with its name, Dragon's Milk has become its own legend, and we're proud of its heritage as the best liquid in our house," said Brett VanderKamp, president, New Holland Brewing.

The new packaging, retail elements and branded merchandise will hit store shelves this fall.
