A brewery in the area is releasing a highly rated specialty beer this weekend, including two aged vintage versions.
Comstock Park-based Perrin Brewing Co. will release No Rules Vietnamese Porter on Saturday.
Bottle sales will begin at 11 a.m. for the general public at the Perrin taproom, at 5910 Comstock Park Dr. NW.
The taproom release is a first-come, first-served setup.
No Rules was ranked by RateBeer.com as one of the top 10 “Imperial Baltic Porters” in 2016 and as the “World’s Top New Beer Release” of 2015. Draft Magazine has also ranked No Rules as one of the top “winter sippers.”
The porter is brewed with coconut, cinnamon and turbinado sugar, before aging in bourbon barrels and finishes at 15-percent alcohol by volume.
The limited-release beer will be sold in 22-ounce bottles for $16.99. Customers will also be able to buy 8-ounce pours of the beer at the taproom.
The Saturday release will also feature limited supplies of two prior vintages of No Rules, with 2015 selling for $20.99 per 22-ounce bottle and the 2016 version selling for $18.99 per bottle.
The 2017 variation of No Rules will also have a limited distribution in stores, with a release set for March 27.
Founded in 2012, Perrin Brewing Co. increased production to more than 23,500 barrels of beer in 2016, a 60-percent increase over 2015.
Perrin is part of Oskar Blues Holding Co., a partnership between Colorado-based Oskar Blues Brewery, Florida-based Cigar City Brewing Co., Utah-based Salt Lake Brewing Co. and Massachusetts-based Fireman Capital Partners.
