A brewery is throwing a birthday party today with some special beers.

Big Lake Brewing Co. in Holland will host its second-anniversary party from noon to midnight at its taproom, at 977 Butternut Dr.

The brewery opened during Fourth of July weekend in 2013.

Earlier this week, Big Lake Brewing said it will triple its production size, up to 1,000 barrels of beer a year. The announcement coincided with two of the company’s three owners — Nic Winsemius and Travis Prueter — transitioning to full-time at the brewery.

Special beers for the event will be a Wild Raspberry Ale, a cask-toasted “cocao-nut” porter, a cask vanilla porter and bottle sales of the brewery’s Benevolence and Bourbon Barrel Darkstar.

Several musical acts will perform throughout the day, including Bri Baron, Vincent Hayes, Last Call Band, The Scott Pellegrom Trio and Pieces of Work.

“We’re looking forward to celebrating with our regulars and welcoming new people for their first visit to BLB,” said Greg MacKeller, Big Lake Brewing’s third co-owner. “It’s been a really fun first two years.”
