Another brewery is turning two.
Grand Rapids Brewing Co. will join Mitten Brewing Co. and Perrin Brewing Co. in the “terrible twos” this weekend with a variety of specials.
Mitten Brewing turned two last month, and Perrin turned two in September. Rockford Brewing Co. joins the ranks later this month.
On Saturday, Grand Rapids Brewing will release two limited-edition bottles, a special draft, host a brunch buffet and offer drink specials all day.
Special beers
To celebrate its birthday, the brewery bottled two beers: the Philanthropist and Polish Eagle.
The Philanthropist is Grand Rapids Brewing’s annual anniversary beer, a barleywine aged in bourbon barrels.
Polish Eagle is an imperial porter aged in bourbon barrels, which took home the gold medal at the 2013 World Beer Championship.
The brewery’s Rosalynn Bliss Blonde Ale — also a gold medal winner — will get amped up with a special draft release of Empress Bliss, a 9-percent version of the beer. It’s brewed with organic mango puree, citra hops and mango tea.
The brewery said there will be 150 bottles of the Polish Eagle and 150 bottles of the Philanthropist available, with the first 100 bottles sold accompanied by two-year-anniversary pint glasses.
All day long, customers can receive $2 pints of Silver Foam, a modern take on the pre-Prohibition juggernaut lager from Grand Rapids Brewing Co.
Food and mug club
The day starts with a $15 brunch buffet and a $2 build-your-own Bloody Mary bar from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
During the event, Grand Rapids Brewing will sell 2015 Mug Club Memberships for $65 and $55 to existing members.
