A restaurant group is building a new location of a national fast-food chain focused on burgers and custard.

Grand Rapids-based KBA Restaurant Group is planning a Culver’s restaurant in Allendale, at 5128 Lake Michigan Dr., next to the Domino’s pizza, according to CD Barnes Construction yesterday.

Construction on the 4,330-square-foot new building began in April and is expected to be completed in the fall.

The location will feature indoor seating and a drive-thru.

Drew Langstraat, of KBA, will operate the new restaurant as general manger.

The Grand Rapids firms Architectural Concepts and CD Barnes Construction are the architect and the contractor on the project.

Founded in 1984 in Sauk City, Wisconsin, Culver’s is known for its ButterBurgers, frozen custard and Wisconsin cheese curds.
