In a community striving to diversify its talent landscape, an upcoming event is seeking to amplify the voices of West Michigan’s diverse talent.

The Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce recently announced that it's partnering with the West Michigan Minority Contractors Association to host the annual Minority Business Showcase.

The event, which is free and open to the public, is scheduled for Oct. 29, from 5-7:30 p.m., at the Goei Center in Grand Rapids.

The event will be combined with the chamber's Business After Hours program in an effort to “build relationships with minority exhibitors showcasing their products, goods and services.”

The Minority Business Showcase is billed as "the perfect opportunity to demonstrate and/or discover goods and services from a wide range of industries and local businesses,” according to the chamber's website.

Exhibitors from a range of industries will be at the event: arts, food services, insurance, business services, consulting and more.

Last year, the Minority Business Showcase presented 32 minority-owned companies to 177 attendees.
