Chamber taking pros Inside Grand Rapids

Applications for the Inside Grand Rapids program by the Grand Rapids Chamber close this Friday.

The program will help participants learn more about the city through six sessions from August to November. The program is open to up to 40 people.

Participants will learn about the history of the city, tour local neighborhoods, be informed about upcoming projects and learn about various community resources.

They will also learn about local service opportunities through neighborhood associations, schools, city commissions and boards, cultural institutions and nonprofits. 

There will be opportunities throughout the six sessions to meet with local decision makers and learn how to get involved in the community.

The cost of the program is $500.

Inside Grand Rapids runs from 6-9 p.m. on the following dates:

Aug. 28: Orientation
Sept. 11: Our Community
Sept. 25: Cultural and Social Engagement
Oct. 9: Community and Civic Leadership
Oct. 23: Connecting Through Your Passions
Nov. 6: Bringing It All Together
