A restaurant chain known for serving “spicy New Orleans-style chicken” has opened another location in the region.

Anthony Basile opened a franchise of Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen in Muskegon Township last week at 1891 E. Apple Ave., according to Colliers International West Michigan.

Popeyes’ menu features fried chicken, seafood and sandwiches.

Basile plans to hire 40 employees for the location.

"We are excited to grow Popeyes’ West Michigan presence with our new Muskegon location,” Basile said. “We’re proud to offer great food and service in a family friendly environment and look forward to serving our spicy fried chicken to Muskegon residents and visitors in the years to come.”

The Muskegon Township Popeyes location is Basile’s second in Michigan. Earlier this year, he opened one in Greenville.

Chris Prins, of Colliers International West Michigan, represented Popeyes in the real estate transaction.

The restaurant is open from 10:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. daily.
