A Michigan development group acquired a Texas construction firm.
The Christman Company recently acquired MEDCO Construction, based in Dallas, Texas. The acquisition will allow Christman to expand its construction services and sets the stage for growth in Texas and the surrounding areas.
“The expansion of resources allows us to serve clients in sectors where Christman excels, such as health care, corporate headquarters, higher education and places of worship,” said Steven Roznowski, president and CEO of Christman. “Our new team members share Christman’s cultural foundations of integrity, safety and providing the highest value for clients.”
MEDCO is the construction arm of Baylor Scott & White Health, a nonprofit health care system in Texas and previously operated as an in-house construction partner for the system for more than 55 years.
“We are excited to join The Christman Company with their dedication to safety and expertise in complex health care environments,” said MEDCO President Denward Freeman. “This and other common values will allow our teams to serve our clients with quality and integrity.”
The former MEDCO staff will combine forces with Christman. With more than $1 billion in annual revenue, Christman was seeking a strategic partnership in the region, and with Baylor Scott & White, determined this would be a good fit for both organizations.
Based in Lansing, the Christman Company also has local offices in Grand Rapids and Detroit, as well as locations in southern and southwestern U.S.
