An international hard cider competition is taking place in Grand Rapids during Cider Week GR.
The 13th-annual Great Lakes International Cider & Perry Competition, or GLINTCAP, is scheduled for May 16-19 at the Courtyard by Marriott in downtown Grand Rapids, at 11 Monroe Ave. NW.
Experience Grand Rapids has moved the dates for its Cider Week GR to coincide with GLINTCAP.
The competition accepts entries from all over the world and is open to commercial producers and amateur hard cider makers.
“We did think that GLINTCAP would be a great time to host Cider Week GR, just so we could put West Michigan’s best foot forward in terms of hard cider,” said Stephanie Kotschevar, public relations manager, Experience GR.
The competition received 1,206 entries in 2017.
GLINTCAP is not hosted by Experience GR and is not open to the public.
Cider Week GR will take place from May 13-19 and feature tastings, food pairings and tours hosted by a number of Grand Rapids establishments, including Vander Mill, Farmhaus Cider Co., Stella’s Lounge, The Søvengård and more.
