A cleaning supplier has completed an 11-month construction project to convert a building in the region into its new headquarters.

KSS Enterprises said this week it finished the renovation and expansion project in Texas Township, just southwest of Kalamazoo, at 5053 Sports Dr.

The project increased the building’s footprint from 53,000 square feet to 83,000 square feet.

The building now features offices for administrative and sales staff, a retail showroom, a service department, training facilities and a 45,000-square-foot storage facility on a 5.5-acre site. The showroom is open to the public.

KSS also owns another 3 acres to the south.

The project was needed as KSS had outgrown its former space and was storing product and some team members off site.

The building was once home to S.W.A.T Fitness Club, Pirate’s Island Aquatic Center Water Park, a dance studio, a chiropractic clinic and a salon. The multi-tenant building also had vacancies.

“We are thrilled to have had the opportunity to revitalize such a prominent building in the Kalamazoo community,” KSS Enterprises Owner Tom Hill said. “The evolution of our new headquarters parallels the growth of our company. The build out of our new space was intentional, and it allows us room for future expansion.”

Kalamazoo-based Bosch Architecture and Portage-based Cornerstone Construction Management worked on the project.
