A global coffee chain is opening a new shop along a major retail corridor in town.
Starbucks is expected to open the shop this October at Breton South Village in Grand Rapids, at 2500 Burton St. SE.
The new 2,837-square-foot coffee shop will feature a drive-thru lane and share a building with the kitchenware retailer Sur La Table.
“The addition of Starbucks to the Breton Village area was a natural fit due to the company’s reputation and values,” said Scott Wierda, managing partner of CWD Real Estate Investment and co-owner of Breton South Village.
“Starbucks’ convenience and familiarity comes as an amenity to the surrounding community, serving both businesses and residents.”
Grand Rapids-based CWD Real Estate Investment has worked to redevelop the Breton Village area by introducing a mix of nationally recognized brands and local retailers.
The Breton South Village shopping center is also home to Fresh Thyme Farmers Market, Chow Hound Pet Supplies and Breton Village Animal Clinic.
There are still three spaces available, totaling 32,250 square feet, according to CWD’s site plan of the property.
Seattle-based Starbucks has opened 24,000 stores across 70 countries since opening in 1971.
