A college in the region has selected a new chair for its board of trustees.
Kalamazoo College’s next board chair is Si Johnson, effective July 1, according to the college. He will serve a one-year term in the role.
The vote took place March 9. There were no other officer moves or selections.
Johnson has served on the Kalamazoo College board since 1996 and been vice chair since 2010.
A 1978 graduate of Kalamazoo College, Johnson is the former group president for the Stryker MedSurg Group.
Johnson takes the place of Charlotte Hall, who will stand for re-election for another three-year board term in June.
“His involvement with the college during the past three decades and his experience as a trustee are a tremendous asset to K,” said Jorge Gonzalez, president, Kalamazoo College. “This decision continues Charlotte’s legacy of strong leadership and provides the entire board great momentum moving forward.”
Johnson said the board’s chemistry and passion place it in a strong position to execute the college’s new strategic plan.
