A local college has appointed three new board members.
Aquinas College said last week that Rick Heuvelman, James Rabaut and Sister Barbara Reid will each serve three-year terms on the college’s board of trustees.
The 15-person board is chaired by Don Burns and vice chaired by Matt Wey.
The new members replace Dick Durell, Lt. Gen. (Ret.) John Nowak and Sister Mary Kay Oosdyke, who are leaving the board after nine years and have each been named trustee emeritus.
The board comprises active community leaders from a wide range of industries and backgrounds and oversees matters concerning Aquinas College’s policy, property, strategic planning and fiscal affairs.
Board member backgrounds
An alum of Aquinas, Heuvelman, a student-athlete, graduated in 1979 with a degree in education. He is the general manager of Foundation Building Materials’ Michigan and Indiana locations, where he has worked for 40 years.
