A national company has purchased an auto auction business in the area.

Texas-based America’s Auto Auction has acquired West Michigan Auto Auction in Wayland, as well as Interstate-94 Vehicle Auction in Parma, west of Jackson.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

America’s Auto Auction is a portfolio company of the Dallas-based private equity firm Trinity Hunt Partners and has 21 locations in the U.S.

West Michigan Auto Auction was founded in 1996 by Dan DeVos.

Both of the Michigan locations were sold to America’s Auto Auction by Carl Miskotten, who will remain general manager of the two locations.

‚ÄúThis acquisition represents a compelling opportunity to add two high-quality auction locations to the America‚Äôs Auto Auction platform,‚ÄĚ said Ben Lange, CEO, America‚Äôs Auto Auction.

Trinity Hunt Partners acquired a majority of America’s Auto Auction in 2015.

In January, America’s Auto Auction acquired seven auctions from Auction Broadcasting Co.

West Michigan Auto Auction won the 2016 Auction of the Year Award from the National Auto Auction Association.

The business is on an 86-acre piece of land in Wayland and consigns more than 1,400 vehicles a week.
