A woman-owned construction firm welcomed a new partner.
Zach Verhulst recently was selected as managing partner for Metric Structures. He will join founder Jacey Ehmann as part of Metric’s leadership team and will help oversee the business functions and lead the design team as it grows.
“We have set our sights on making a big impact on this industry,” Ehmann said. “I knew it was going to be challenging, and I knew I couldn’t do it alone. I chose Zach, not just for his expertise, but for his character.”
Metric Structures was founded in 2017 and has experience in the commercial and residential markets in West Michigan, including Hancock, a restaurant that opened on Wealthy Street in 2019.
“I love making sure we are making a difference,” Verhulst said. “Metric is very results-driven, but unlike anywhere else, their priorities and how they measure success is super inspiring to me. … They take pride and extreme ownership in their relationships and make sure they take care of everyone involved.”
Verhulst previously was a 2019 Grand Rapids Business Journal 40 Under 40 award recipient and is a past recipient of the American Institute of Architect’s Young Architect of the Year in West Michigan.
He currently is on the board of directors at Blandford Nature Center and Covenant House Academy and is a member of the advisory council for the Academy of Design and Construction at Innovation Central High School and the executive committee at ICCF.
