Construction firm adds to team

A West Michigan contractor continues to add employees.

Holland-based Elzinga & Volkers, or E&V, said last month it has added more than 20 employees to its team this year, including 18 new positions.

The firm also recently promoted six employees.

E&V leadership foresees a possible 20-percent increase in field staff in the next two years.

“We are continuing to grow at a rapid rate,” said Mike Novakoski, president and CEO, E&V. “These team members are committed to E&V’s continued development, both through organic opportunities and the expansion of our physical footprint with the addition of our Coldwater office.”


Tony Roussey was promoted to COO from VP of operations, a role Joe Novakoski takes over from his position as VP of project management.

Grace Silva, the company’s CFO, was added to E&V’s executive committee, the first female on the committee in firm history.

Mike Chrisman was promoted to corporate trades manager from field manager.

Mike Seiferlein went from interiors foreman to warehouse manager.

Jamie Schippa moved from operations administrator to corporate safety coordinator.

Brad Giha is now a senior project manager.

Field hires

Christopher Workman was hired as a field engineer, while Dan Blamer, Jon Hegwer, Michael Roney and Robert Schroeder were added as field managers.

Joel Cartwright, Scott Scherer and Tony Selzer are new carpenters, with Kevin Zalis, Mark Kersten and Chad Kiester hired as interiors carpenters. Miguel Delao was added as a carpenter apprentice.

Robert Erickson II was hired in the interiors division, and Tyler Compagner was hired as an equipment operator.

Office and project support

Alaina Ekdom was hired as marketing manager, and Kelsey Juergens was added as a marketing assistant.

Cory Loomis was added as a senior project estimator, and Curt Hielke was added as a project manager.

Kristen Hauck and Melissa Tolsma join E&V as project coordinators, and Matt Wintjes and Max Schmidt were hired as assistant project managers.

Rachel Austin was hired as EV Group director of corporate initiatives, and Jim Badalucco was hired as EV Group director of business development.

Tricia Eikey was hired as the EV Group administrative assistant.

Julie Beckhusen is the new office administrator in the E&V Coldwater office.
